1. SIGN UP FOR VT ALERT: If you haven’t signed up for VT Alert please consider doing so. You will receive personalized alerts via phone, text or e-mail about emergencies statewide and locally. Not only is the information coming from state and federal agencies but also local first responders. If something happens you’ll be the first to know. You can sign up not only for Cavendish/Proctorsville but also for areas where you might work, travel through or where family and friends live. • Cavendish Fire Dept Tree & Wreath Sale: The Annual Cavendish Fire Dept Tree/Wreath sale is now underway at the Fire Station. They are available Monday-Friday from 9-4 and on the weekends.
• Green Focus for the Holiday Season: For many people today is a major shopping day for the holidays. By being mindful of how you prepare for the holidays you can save money as well as help the planet.

• More free COVID-19 tests from the government are available for home delivery through the mail: Americans can order more free COVID-19 tests online for home delivery. The U.S. government is offering to send another round of four at-home virus tests ahead of the typical surge in cases during the winter holiday season. Anyone who did not order a batch of four COVID-19 tests in September can secure up to eight of them this time around starting Monday at COVIDtests.gov. The U.S. Postal Service will deliver them for free.

NOVEMBER 24 (FRIDAY): Town Office closed
DECEMBER 2-3 (SATURDAY-SUNDAY): Indulgence Tour. From 12 pm noon to 5pm, various local Inn welcome visitors for this special tour to enjoy tasty treats and holiday decorations. Proceeds benefit local charities. To learn more, contact the Golden Stage Inn
DECEMBER 9 (SATURDAY): Stuff a Fire Truck- Food drive from 9-5 at Singleton’s in Proctorsville. Non perishable food items and monetary donations will be excepted. All donations benefit the Black River Good Neighbors Food Shelf.
DECEMBER 16 (SATURDAY): 1 PM. Sheryl Faye, who presents historical woman, will provide a one woman show about the life and achievements of Queen Elizabeth II. This is a free and open to the public event at the Cavendish Library. Refreshments will be provided.
DECEMBER 17 (SUNDAY): 3 PM on, the Cavendish Historical Society (CHS) is hosting a Dickens’ Christmas Carol complete with workshops, mince pies, pot luck and ghost stories at the former Crow’s Bakery site on Depot St.
